ACTIVE SHOOTER TRAINING

In the event of a medical emergency or an active shooter situation, you are your own first responder. Are you prepared?

Active Shooting Training

AST – the original civilian active shooter response training delivered with a trauma-informed approach in an age- and ability- appropriate way.

The AST(Active Shooter Training) equips you with the necessary skills to identify red flags, respond promptly in the event of an active shooter scenario, and learn to manage severe bleeding and other trauma medicine injuries in situations where lives are in danger.

AST is a comprehensive training program that not only covers active shooter response techniques but also includes instructions on how to provide trauma medical care to the victims.

We teach how can you effectively respond should you ever be confronted with an active shooter situation, terrorist attack, violent attacker in the workplace, and other potentially deadly events.

Too many active shooter courses are hands-off, consisting of a video and perhaps a short lecture. Tribe 13 mission is to fill in that knowledge gap with a complete active shooter training experience.

Who Should Take Active Shooter Training?

Anyone can benefit from learning how to respond to active shooter incidents. Some of the more common places for an active shooter situation include schools, hospitals, governmental facilities, and various types of businesses. But these events can occur at any time and in any location, impacting people of all ages, races, and other demographics.

Part of this course is the trauma medical care module. The aim of this training is to provide every student with the necessary skills to confidently administer life-saving emergency medical treatment. The course will concentrate on the fundamentals of emergency medicine and how to maintain the patient's vital signs until they can receive more advanced medical assistance. The training will consist of a classroom segment, practical exercises, and simulation scenarios in which students will be required to diagnose injuries and provide care to the patient before the bleeding becomes fatal. This training is crucial for anyone who carries a medical trauma kit and desires to be equipped to rescue the life of someone they love, themselves, or a passerby in a crisis. The students will learn methods to stop the bleeding using tourniquets, wound packing or direct pressure techniques. Also they will be able to identify an open pneumothorax (open chest wounds) and apply chest seals and other medical procedures.
